In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. And because it was WAY past time, I had my first mammogram this afternoon. It was not awful or painful or embarrassing or any of the other reasons I had made for myself over the years for avoiding the experience. Ah...life in paradise. We've gotten more than 3 inches of rain in the last 12 hours. So far not too bad. But if it keeps up like the weather nubs say it's going to, I may have to work from home tomorrow...which come to think of it would not necessarily be a bad thing...
According to the local weather nubs it is officially a blustery day here. Which in Tampa means it's cloudy, 63 degrees, and the palm trees are leaning sideways. It also means I will not be driving across any of the Bay bridges thank you very much. Think I'll just stay home and hibernate...And who needs honey when you have Girl Scout cookies?
To those of you who insist that Florida does not have seasons I say poo! Tomorrow is the first day of Not Hurricane Season. Woo! So we don't have leaves that turn different colors...I'll settle for being able to turn off the AC.
My sister and I went to St.Augustine last weekend. I had a really great time. The weather was fabulous, literally not a cloud in the sky. It had probably been 30 years since I had been there. As a native Floridian I'm used to some big-ass, wacky-looking bugs... But great coogley-moogley. WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?! Should I be on the lookout for the Mothership?
Starting to feel the outermost rain bands of Irene. It has been windy all day(15 mph or so) and even though it has been sunny for the most part, you can tell something is brewing. Forecasters are calling for near gale force winds tonight as some of the heavier bands spin through. This from a storm more than 200 miles away! I hope folks in
